Hodja’s tips

Hodja went to a hotel to eat one day. Seeing him wearing tattered clothes, and looking every bit like a beggar, the waiter treated him rudely, and gave very poor service. Before leaving, Hodja left him ten gold coins as a tip. The waiter was stunned.
A few months later, Hodja was back at the hotel. This time, the same waiter gave him incredibly good service. Before leaving, Hodja left the tiniest copper coin as a tip. The waiter was again stunned. He asked Hodja, “Brother, explain to me your behavior.” And Hodja replied, “The gold coins were for today’s service. The copper coin is for the service you had given last time.”
